1. Lipstick Under My Burkha

Finally saw its release, Produced by Prakash Jha, the movie got into many controversies as the movie was based on women fantasies. The censor board didn’t give certification but the movie received the Audience Award at the Glasgow Film Festival 2017, the Oxfam Award for Best Film on Gender Equality at the Mumbai film festival and the ‘The spirit of Asia’ award by the Japan foundation Asia Center.

2. Peddlers

This movie was set to release in 2013 but unfortunately it didn’t. But it was screened at the 2012 International Critics’ Week in southern France and was also selected for the Sundance Screenwriters and Directors’ Lab along with 12 other film-makers from across the world.

3.The Pink Mirror

This was India’s first film on transsexuals which never got a theatrical release in India but won the Jury Award for Best Feature, Fire Island, New York, USA and the Best Film of the Festival, Question de Genre Lille, France.

4. Unfreedom

This flick dealt with homosexuality and Islamic terrorism. It got banned in India by censor board but was nominated at 63rd annual Golden Reel Awards for the category of Foreign Feature Film.

5. Inshallah Football

The documentary based on a Kashmiri boy was initially banned in India but later on released in India. It got National Award and got premiered at the Pusan International Film Festival and received a Special Mention award at the 2010 Dubai International Film Festival.
